It's freezing outside, and after cooking a hearty warming dinner it feels a little odd to be talking about ice cream but the best suppliers get snapped up quick and we don't want you to miss out on the ultimate vegan ice cream. Ice cream is a great option for keeping guests cool if you're having a summer's wedding but if you aren't why not have one when it tastes so good? And ice cream can also be an alternative to the traditional wedding cake.
Booja-Booja Events are now serving their renowned delicious ice cream from their cute tuk tuk at weddings all over the country. I will let River from Booja-Booja Events tell you more about what they can offer.
Thank you for taking the time to chat. Can you tell us a bit about Booja-Booja Events and what you can offer to Brides and Grooms looking for something different?
It’s a pleasure, thank you so much for having me!
Ensuring all your guests feel welcome by taking their tastes and dietary requirements into account is now a breeze for brides and grooms with Booja-Booja’s delicious, award winning ice cream. For a fresh take on convention, wedding guests can enjoy vegan, organic, gluten & soya free ice cream served from the charming tuk tuk. Created in an edible shade of pink, the tuk tuk is one of a kind so offers brides something truly memorable on their special day. And the Booja-Booja deliciousness of the ice cream will certainly be enjoyed by the more omnivorous of your guests.
Can you tell us more about what guests and the wedding couple can expect if they hire you?
Wedding guests can enjoy our multi award winning, sumptuously creamy Booja-Booja ice cream. There are six dreamy flavours in total such as Hazelnut Chocolate Truffle and Caramel Pecan Praline, served in either crispy waffle cones, tubs or even gluten free cones so no one is left out of the party!
Scooped to perfection by yours truly, you can trust that you and your guests will receive the highest level of service from our initial chat through to your big day.
We also offer gold platters filled with our Chocolate truffles for your guests to graze on too, Almond Salted Caramel being one of my favourites.
Can you tell us how Booja-Booja Events came about?
My dad, who I am so immensely inspired by, started Booja-Booja in our kitchen nearly 20 years ago. It is still a pioneering company, and while growing in success has not compromised it’s ethics. I wanted to create a business that combined my love of Booja-Booja and everything it stands for and... fun! So naturally I decided to convert a tuk tuk into a gorgeous pink ice cream tuk tuk. I now get to travel around the country attending weddings, festivals and parties delighting guests with Booja-Booja ice cream. There are smiles all round when ice cream is involved, especially when its Booja-Booja!
What is important to you about being a vegan company?
We can do so much individually to help look after the planet and our health but we can do so much more collectively. This is why it is important to me having a vegan business so I can reach more people and show how incredibly delicious a plant based diet can be without harming your health or the planet.
What flavours do you offer and which one is your favourite?
Raspberry Ripple - Lushly smiling dairy free ice cream with trumpets of rippling raspberry sauce.
Caramel Pecan Praline - Caramel vanilla dairy free ice cream schmoozled with salted caramel pecan praline sauce.
Chocolate Salted Caramel Chocolate - Caramel dairy free ice cream with chwoozles of salted caramel chocolate sauce.
Hazelnut Chocolate Truffle - Hazelnut chocolate dairy free ice cream with swoons of chocolate hazelnut truffle swirls.
Hunky Punky Chocolate - Smooth and deeply truffley dairy free chocolate ice cream.
Keep Smiling Vanilla M’gorilla - Smooth and fragrantly innocent dairy free vanilla ice cream made with cashew nuts
Can I have two favourites? It’s got to be a double scoop with hazelnut truffle on the bottom and caramel pecan on top!
What ingredients do you use to make your ice cream?
Booja-Booja ice creams are free from dairy gluten and soya. Meaning that not only do they rival their counterparts on taste but on nutritional and free-from credentials too! Rather than a long list of stabilisers, emulsifiers, flavours and other chemicals, all six flavours are made with the finest, ingredients and without preservatives or other additives. The ice cream is made from the finest organic cashews, and agave or coconut syrup provides gentle sweetness across the six flavours – you won’t find any refined sugars or sugar-rush highs in Booja-Booja ice creams. Plus they have the added bonus of having at least 70% less saturated fat than leading dairy and vegan ice creams. So simple. So dreamily delicious.
What does Booja Booja Events have in store for 2019?
Lots of wonderful weddings, festivals and parties to attend so keep an eye out on our social channels to keep up to date the tuk tuks whereabouts.
There is only one Booja-Booja tuk tuk in the world so make sure it is on your wedding guest list this summer!
Thank you so much River, what an exciting new venture. I wish I could get married all over again as I would definitely be getting in touch with River. If you decide to, please can you invite me to your wedding!
